James White – Director of Human Capital
Jim brings over 40 years of success in supporting human capital resources for government operations both in the United States and abroad. He charts the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to do various jobs within the industry, researches labor markets to determine skills availability, and most important, determines the compensation and benefits required to attract and retain qualified people. Jim has worked with ALC and our teaming partners since 2008 and is responsible for the recruiting and hiring of over 1000 people. His success is reflected in a 98% retention rate of ALC employees last fiscal year.
Jim is a retired U.S. Air Force Colonel with decades of experience supporting DoD, its Services, and the defense industry. Before joining the company, he managed the human capital resources for international acquisition and logistics organizations that included Director for Military Personnel positions at the Defense Commissary Agency and the Defense Logistics Agency.
Jim brings expertise in transition efforts for new projects. He served as a senior member of the Army Career and Alumni Program where he helped thousands of military veterans find post service employment. Later, he was engaged as a volunteer conducting employer panels for new veterans where he provided resume development, interview coaching, and career counseling at Army, Air Force, and Navy transition centers throughout the eastern region.
Jim previously provided consulting services for IBM and Price Waterhouse Cooper as a transition officer for two major programs affecting the military and one in support of Customs and Border Protection. His ability to work with senior executive officers contributed directly to the success of the efforts.
Jim believes that people are a company’s most valuable asset. “We can be of service by developing our own capabilities—expanding our knowledge and skills—so that we can best support our clients, staff, and team-mates.”
Jim holds a B.S. in Education from Louisiana State University and an M.A. in Political Science from Webster University. Jim and his wife enjoy grandchildren, traveling, and playing golf as often as possible.
