Functional Area - 3.1 Research & Development Support

 

Zone 2:  ICS provides DHS with secure hosting of its IA Compliance System. This system is comprised of 20 database and application servers hosting the Trusted Agent FISMA and RMS applications. The DHS IA Compliance System supports over 2,000 users worldwide who perform certification and accreditation (C&A) throughout DHS.

 

Functional Area - 3.12 Information System (IS) Development, Information Assurance (IA), and Information Technology (IT) Support

 

Zone 2:  ICS supports the National Naval Medical Center (NNMC) consisting of approximately 5000 users and 16 remote medical treatment facilities. The network infrastructure is comprised of CISCO routers, Nortel GigE backbone switches, Nortel Closet switches, Checkpoint firewalls running on Nokia Appliances, McAfee, IIS and SNORT IDS, and approximately 80 servers running multiple operating systems such as Windows NT, IRIX and UNIX. ICS engineers provide network engineering, security monitoring and incident response support during primary support hours and emergency after-hours support on a 45-minute response time through triggered response mechanisms established by ICS.

 

Functional Area - 3.20 Program Support

 

Zone 2:  ICS provides the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) a disaster recovery site with network operations center support and a relocation site for support staff in the event of a disaster. The OCIO currently uses ICS to host redundant 24x7x365 network services (e.g., email, BlackBerry, data file storage, etc.) and staff to support the OCIO COOP and disaster recovery programs.
