Functional Area - 3.1 Research & Development Support
Zones 2 & 6: Cherokee supports the Defense Integration and Management of Nuclear Data Services (DIAMONDS). This system integrates disparate legacy databases containing information concerning the DoD Nuclear Stockpile, which provides asset management information across multiple organizations and corresponding security layers. Cherokee’s support includes architecture design; systems engineering; network and communications engineering, integration, and support; software engineering, development, testing, and integration; integration strategies and support; life-cycle documentation; configuration management; training support; database design, implementation, and support; worldwide operational user support; quality assurance; usability engineering; and security engineering, planning, and support.

Functional Area - 3.6 Software Engineering, Development, Programming and Network Support
Zones 2 & 5: Cherokee provides system administration services, both local and remote, for the Global Freight Management (GFM) Development and Quality Assurance (Dev/QA), Independent Validation and Verification (IV&V), and Production environments as well as for several special purpose servers. There are over 50 servers and network devices used in the operation of the GFM system environments. Cherokee System Engineers currently perform all aspects of UNIX system administration for GFM.
Functional Area - 3.10 Configuration Management (CM) Support
Zone 2: As a subcontractor, Cherokee provides technical services and manages the operational systems for the Social Security Administration’s Benefits Offset National Demonstration (BOND) project. This support includes requirements development; technical review, testing and deployment; acquisition, installation, hosting and systems administration; support of bi-directional secure transfer of data; development and implementation of the Master Record Component of the BOND Operations Data System; support of data transmissions and interoperability; and configuration management of the system.

Functional Area - 3.17 Supply and Provisioning Support
Zones 3, 4, 6: Cherokee provides distribution support to the US Marine Corps LOGCOM for the movement of major end items for ongoing theater operations. Task objectives are to enhance accomplishment of the DMC and Enterprise Distribution Department (EDD) mission by providing expert support for technical, programmatic, and administrative functions. Cherokee Distribution Process Advocates (DPAs) currently support overseas operations at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait and Bagram Air Base, Kandahar Air Base, and Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan. DPAs were previously located at Al Asad and Al Taqaddum, Iraq; Ali Al Saleem, Kuwait; Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar; and Incirlik Air Base, Turkey. In CONUS DPAs are located at Travis AFB, CA; Charleston AFB, SC; Charleston Naval Weapon Station, SC; and MCLB Albany, GA.
Zone 1: Cherokee provided highly qualified acquisition, procurement, technical, and logistics specialists supporting the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia in acquiring hundreds of thousands of critical industrial spare parts used by military customers. Procurement and contract management services were provided to the Supplier Operations Directorate responsible for comprehensive acquisition of supplies, such as medical supplies, clothing and textiles, electrical systems, and equipment components to support DLA customers. Technical Review Support services focused on validation and verification of technical data to ensure the correct information is included in the Bid Set. Performance management tasks included conducting a detailed analysis of production processes and identifying constraints and their root causes. We also analyzed supply chain performance data and prepared reports, charts and presentations.
Functional Area - 3.20 Program Support
Zone 2: Cherokee provides the FAA Center for Advanced Aviation System Development (CAASD) Program Office with planning, management, and execution of program activities including contracts management, program management, and administrative support. Activities supported include technical oversight, program plan validation and coordination, appropriate work determinations, resource allocation, coordination with the CAASD Director’s staff, liaison with other Government Agencies, and contact with industry concerning Federally Funded Research and Development Corporation (FFRDC) matters.
Functional Area - 3.21.2 Analytical and Organizational Assessment Support
Zone 4: Cherokee supported the implementation of the National Security Personnel System (NSPS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) program for the FISC. Support included developing and recommending implementation plans, facilitating the development of business rules, pay pool policy, structure and composition. Cherokee tracked and reported implementation progress to command management; and prepared and delivered senior level management briefs and reports.
